PALO ALTO, CA, USA I November 1, 2013 I Cellular Biomedicine Group, Inc. (CBMG) is pleased to announce that it has treated the final patient of its Phase I/IIa clinical trial for ReJoin™, a human adipose-derived mesenchymal precursor cell (haMPC) therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA). The trial tests the safety and efficacy of intra-articular injections of autologous (patient’s own) haMPCs in order to reduce inflammation and repair damaged joint cartilage.
The clinical trial is conducted by Shanghai’s Renji Hospital, a tertiary hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. As previously reported, the interim analysis of the trial demonstrated that patients had a clinically meaningful reduction in pain and increase in mobility, with a significant improvement (P
Full data analysis by FuDan Medical University Department of Biostatistics will be carried out in the next four to six weeks and the final report of the trial will be announced before the end of the year.
